Water Jet Cutting

Waterjet cutting is nothing but a rapid erosion process within a material. Water which is subjected to high pressure is made to pass through a ruby or diamond nozzle into a mixing chamber. The high pressure creates a vacuum which draws abrasive sand into the stream and it is then fired at the object for which cutting is required. The abrasive particles strike the material with such force and speed causing an erosion-like effect thereby fulfilling the cutting operation.
